Your puppy's first visits to the groomer shape how they feel about grooming for life. My Puppy Intro introduces them to the salon, the equipment and the grooming process, calmly and at their own pace.
When can my puppy start?
From their 2nd vaccination.
Starting early, while they're young and curious, makes a huge difference. Puppies who get used to grooming from the beginning grow into relaxed, happy dogs at the salon, which makes every groom after that easier for them.
What happens at a Puppy Intro
- Exploring the salon and getting to know me
- Getting used to the equipment, like the dryer and clippers
- Gentle handling of their paws, ears and face
- An introduction to the grooming process, always at their own pace
Every puppy is different, so I tailor each visit to them. Some take everything in their stride and others need a little more time, and that's completely fine.
How you can help at home
- Give them a gentle brush little and often so it feels normal
- Touch their paws, ears and face while they're calm and praise them
- Keep things positive with treats and fuss
I'm always happy to show you how to care for your puppy's coat between visits, especially for breeds like cockapoos and doodles whose coats need regular brushing.
